Discipleship Group Resources

If you are leading a D-Group or discipling anyone, we want you to be thinking 4 generations ahead.  That means when you are discipling someone, be thinking about how you can equip them to disciple someone else, who will then disciple someone else, who will then disciple someone else.  You want to equip the first disciple in such a way they he or she would be able to go and make another disciple with the same idea in mind.   Our desire is to equip people to be Christ-centered laborers while in college and beyond graduation.  As a discipler, you will likely not get more than 1-2 years with a disciple.  So, with that in mind, you need to be thinking about what will best equip your disciple to walk with the Lord for a life time. 

There are a myriad of topics you could cover with your disciples, but we believe if students leave college equipped in about eight main topics, they will be equipped to be a Christ-centered laborer. Those 8 topics are wrapped up into something we will call the 4 Walks and the 4 Talks. The 4 Walks are four essentials of our walk with God that we want to make sure our disciples understand. 

They are: 

 1. Walk in Assurance of Salvation

 2. Walk in Forgiveness

 3. Walk in the Power of the Spirit,

4. Walk in Purity

  The 4 Talks are four types of communication.  They are

1. The Word (God talking to us)

2. Prayer (Us talking to God)

 3. Fellowship/Community/Body (Us to other believers)

 4. Witnessing (Us to non-believers).

 Below, we have provided two ministry tools for each of the 4 Walk/4Talk topics.  We ask that you choose one of the two options for each topic and walk through them with your disciples.  So, that means at least 8 of the times that you get together with your disciple will have the material provided.  You are free to cover other topics during the other times, but we ask you to cover each one of these topics at least once PER SEMESTER.  Yes, that means covering the same topics again the next semester.  You can try to cover all of the material below in one semester if you want.  We'll be providing 2 new resources next semester too.  ALSO, be sure to take your disciples out sharing the gospel AT LEAST twice a semester.   Each time together with your disciples, try to do at least three things:  1) talk about life a little, 2) go through the discipleship material, 3) pray for each other.  Also, take them sharing at least twice a semester.   Below are the different materials for each of the 4 Walks and 4 Talks.  Again, choose one of the two options in each category.  Our staff team will be studying these materials together also..

Walk in Assurance

Option 1: Justification By Faith

This study is designed to help you learn the topic and then teach it.  This tool will help guide you as you teach. It's not designed to read through together. But, print one off for each of your disciples and give it to them at the end of your discussion.                                                          

Option 2: How You Can Be Sure You Are A Christian

This is an article that you can read through together with your disciples.  Be sure to stop and take a look at some of the Scripture in the article.  Print one off for each of your disciples.

Walk in Forgiveness

Option 1: Confession

This study is designed to help you learn the topic and then teach it.  This tool will help guide you as you teach. It's not designed to read through together. But, print one off for each of your disciples and give it to them at the end of your discussion. 

 

Option 2:  Walking In The Light

This study is designed to show you how to teach the study on this topic.  It has a bunch of discussion questions at the end.  Please don;t even try to go through all those questions.  Pick out 3 to 8 questions to talk through.  This isn;t designed to just read through with your disciples.  Print one of for them, but don;t give it to them until after the discussion. 

Walk in the Spirit

Option 1:How You Can Be Filled With The Spirit

This is an article that you can read through together with your disciples.  Be sure to stop and take a look at some of the Scripture in the article.  Print one off for each of your disciples.                                                   

Option 2:  Walking In The Spirit

This is a short article about the importance of having a church home and how to choose that church home.  Print one off for each of your disciples and read through it together and discuss the qustions at the end.  Throw in some of your own questions as well.

Walk in Purity

Option 1: Personal Purity

This study is designed to help you learn the topic and then teach it.  This tool will help guide you as you teach. It's not designed to read through together. But, print one off for each of your disciples and give it to them at the end of your discussion.

This is an article that you can read through together with your disciples.  Be sure to stop and take a look at some of the Scripture in the article. Also, discuss the questions at the end of the article.  Print one off for each of your disciples.

This is an article that you can read through together with your disciples.   Print one off for each of your disciples.  Ask them to use the guidelines to begin preparing their personal testimony and bring it back next week.
